The Toyota GR Yaris, known for its three-cylinder turbo engine, has received a special edition in Italy to mark the 51st anniversary of Toyota’s first World Rally Championship win.
+ New Dacia Duster combines sustainability, technology, and a refreshed design at affordable prices
Inspired by the 1973 Corolla 1600 Coupe, this limited model comes with 18-inch forged wheels and Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires. However, it is only available with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the six-speed manual version is only available with the standard GR Yaris.
Priced at $74,500, the TGR Italy Limited Edition is limited to just 51 units, one for each year since the Corolla’s rally triumph in Detroit in 1973. The high price reflects the impact of the 22% value-added tax in Italy, along with other additional fees that can significantly increase the cost of performance models in Europe.
Buyers of this special edition will also receive a numbered cover, VIP passes for the TGR Italy 2025 season, and TGR Italy branded clothing. The public debut is set for October, with deliveries expected before the end of the year.
Meanwhile, the GR Yaris and GR Corolla remain Toyota’s only models with the 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, although a similar Lexus model is also available, but with no plans to be sold in America.
